- Prescription and/or over-the-counter drugs are considered prohibited and are not permitted for sale.
- Food Products
- Dietary Supplements, Baby Formulas
Permitted:
- Whole, uncut fruits, and vegetables
- Unopened and packaged commercially sold food goods (canned soup, packages of cookies, etc.) as long as the packaging has not been tampered with and the items are sold before their expiration date.
- Illicit Drugs & Paraphernalia
- Drugs that are prohibited by law are strictly prohibited. Substances thought to serve as a substitute for illicit drugs (that may or may not be illegal themselves) are prohibited. Products/devices thought to be used in/for the consumption of illicit drugs or otherwise prohibited items are also prohibited. This also includes drugs that may have been legalized in your state.
- Alcohol
- Alcohol is not permitted for sale via the app. There are no exceptions. (Alcohol is often subject to regulatory restrictions and is illegal for sale in some cases. Because we can’t enforce these laws and regulations, we do not allow these items to be sold.)
- Tobacco/Nicotine
- Tobacco in any form is not permitted for sale via the app. There are no exceptions.
- Animal Sales & Medicine
- Animal sales, Animal parts, vaccines, medicine, and breath fresheners.
Permitted:
- Free pet adoption/rehoming
- Guns & Firearm Accessories/Parts
- Strictly prohibited: Assault weapons, pistols, shotguns, or rifles that fire bullets or shells, airsoft guns, pellet guns/BB guns.
- Also prohibited: firearm accessories, weapons parts, magazines, ammunition, tear gas, pepper spray, tasers, and stun guns.
Permitted:
- Paintball guns
- Hazard Materials/Explosives
- Any items that are labeled or deemed dangerous or potentially dangerous (regardless of whether handled properly or mishandled). This includes toxic substances, explosive devices, fireworks, and pesticides.
- Nudity & Pornography
- Pornographic material of ANY kind is NOT permitted. This includes printed media and soft media.
- Nudity, suggested or implied nudity is not permitted. This includes all forms of artwork, photography and instruments related in any form.
- Escort Services/Prostitution
- Telecommunications Equipment and/or Electronic Equipment That Is Illegal or Facilitates Illegal/Unlawful Behavior
- This includes but is not limited to radar scanners, de-scramblers, cell phone signal blockers, and related items.
- Tampered with Kindle Fire Sticks, Apple TVs, Google Chromecast, or items like these.
- Pyramid Schemes, Multi-Level Marketing, Network Marketing and Related Programs
- Due to the laws and government regulations involved in these processes, we do not allow these types of services.
- Adoption/Surrogacy Services
- Contraceptives/Birth Control
- Covers all forms, including condoms.

- Any document that is deemed to be Government or Military-originating may be taken down regardless of whether or not it is marked “controlled”, “confidential”, etc.
- Personal Credentials
- To prevent ID theft, any listings or photos containing sensitive personal data may be removed at any time.
- Includes software designed to hack OS or wifi that can be used to obtain sensitive information.
- Police/Military/Law Enforcement Uniforms and Vehicles
- Authentic or replicated law enforcement and military uniforms are not permitted
- Vehicles with Law Enforcement signage or official markings of any kind, police lights or sirens.
- Stocks/Securities/Active Currency
- Credit/Debit/Gift Cards
- Strictly prohibited.
- Gift cards and reloadable cards can be risky for buyers, as the balance can not always be verified. Additionally, the card balance can be used or canceled by the original purchaser.
- Sanctioned/Embargoed Goods
- Lottery Tickets/Sweepstakes Entries
- Slot Machines/Video Poker Machines
- Machines used for gambling. Poker Tables.
- Restricted/Regulated Plants
- Counterfeit/Fake/Imposter/Replicas

- Gratuitously graphic, disgusting, obscene, or violent content is prohibited. We don't allow content posted to upset, shock, or disturb 5milers.
33. Be Compassionate: Don't Harass, Bully or Shame
- Harassment and bullying are not allowed on 5miles. 5miles will honor requests to remove content that publicly shames or degrades a private individual.
34. Hate and Supremacy
- Hate speech, supremacy, or behavior that incites hate or violence against individuals or groups of people based on who they are or their beliefs, is prohibited.
35. No Threats, Violence, or Personal Endangerment
- Using 5miles to promote, facilitate, or organize violent, criminal, or non-consensual actions that endanger anyone, physically, mentally or emotionally, is prohibited.
36. Self-Injury
5miles does not allow any content that encourages or glorifies self-injury or encourages others to harm themselves.

Why has my post for a fish tank WITH a fish been allowed to post for over a week now but all of a sudden it's removed for under wrong group "pet adoption" when I re-listed under pet supplies it says prohibited. I read the list of prohibited items and it says NOTHING about pets. It's a damn fish people! Update your policies or RELIST MY TANK!
I am wanting to know why this site will not allow me to access my photos, it is not my be phone, computer, or settings, your site says "all photos" definitely not I only get about 30 photos, also I have tried to post an item and for some reason wipe it away so I have to start over
How about other types of weapons, like pocket knives and such. I've come across a few listings and I'm concerned. I've had posts called out on (forced to delete) for minor innocent details that could have easily been corrected, but these type of things are out there.
Why isn't the sale of livestock permitted? Sheep, goats, cows and chickens are not animals that are adopted. These are farm animsls.....not generally pets. They could be listed under a Farm Heading .. it is a totally different situation tan selling dogs and cats.....just inquiring !

Whatever was wrong with my posting was not in the link you sent me prohibited items. Would you allow me to correct “rehoming” into “I’m gonna take my time to come to your home and make sure that this is a proper fit” service fee if that in fact is why it was taken down.?thx

Who appointed you animal police. Why don't you find some better way to contribute to society. Where were you when they put a dog with her full litter in a wooden box and threw it in the river because they couldn't deal with all those puppies. The dog's sin was that it was too expensive to spay her.
I rehome puppies because it is cruel to kill them!!!! If one has no place to post where someone that wants a pet can find one.
Should people kill all their unwanted litters of puppies or kittens because YOU don't want them to rehome the tiny helpless little puppies and kittens.
The waiting lines to spay and neuter are not short. A dog or cat can get pregnant or get a female pregnant waiting their turn. Please go give them your money so that they can hire and pay more qualified vet's to do the surgery for free for those that cannot afford to pay. That's where your focus should be. NOT SITTING AT HOME OR JOB REPORTING pet adoptions postings. Unwanted pets need a place where people can adopt them!
You may know of some bad person with a puppy mill, but why be so cruel to the puppies. Puppies deserve a home!!!!!

All my posting got taken down because someone thought I was taking in peoples animas and selling them so he could think he is better but doing this so 5 mines should un approve his post because he’s being childish arguing with a 16 year old and he’s like 37 that’s sad
