Boosts are no longer free?? This is what made 5 miles better than all the rest. Really upset over this move. Looks like it’s back to craigslist where boosts are always free.

I have 161 items for sale, and you would would expect me to pay to BOOST THEM? 5 Miles, you might truly believe that the changes being made are great, but they are not! Since you started all this bidding nonsense, the site looks terrible, and confusing. Why in the world did you take the free BOOST option away? Between the fake account holders, and people selling illegal items, I don’t think this app is worth my time anymore. Shame on you 5 Miles! Many of us have been a part of your app from the get go. Have you forgotten about all the “real” members who have kept this app going for so long? Bring back the free boost option!

    Miscellaneous,

I totally agree with you! I sent an email to the 5miles administrators letting them know that they are about to loose many clients if they dont bring back the free boost feature> Hopefully they will get the message!!!

What gives removing the boost feature? The site has become cluttered with the bidding feature. Haven’t had great success here as apposed to other sites and have been here a long time. Think it’s time to leave this app.

Sad to see the boost feature disabled after 4times. It was a good feature to ensure the REAL listings get visability with all the fake listings out there. Listen to the people. Bring it back! Or back to letgo and craigslist we go!!

I am sadden by this "feature" button replacing the "boost" button. Only way around it is to repost it. This is time consuming. I tried it & it works shows up in the newsfeed for 4 hours only then the feature button is back instantly. I spent hundreds of dollars on this Dash bidding feature. Just know I will no longer be bidding there nor buying this feature gadget, or purchasing items from 5miles. I will just sell on my other 2 apps which is where I have been selling anyhow. Goodbye 5miles. This is what is wrong w/ the world today. It's always about money & making more. Why start 5miles w/ a great boosting feature every 4 hrs then take it away? Thats what seperated you from all the other sites. I always told everyone about 5miles across the US & Virgin Islands. I guess now I will be telling 20 people of the new changes & they will tell 20 people. They will find out in 4 hrs anyways. So sad.
    Sincerely,
    Sad in Florida

Allowing only 4 times to Boost - Why? Many people have small, low-priced, garage-sale type items.  It is not worth $ to pay to boost, yet it is a lot of work to delete and find that photo again and repost.  You can't put multiple items in 1 post with a price on a photo -- thus each thing has to be a separate ad.  Then you take away "boosting" these small items.  It's already been very hard to get an ad seen with the Bidding thing taking center stage.  I haven't sold anything on 5miles for months now as ads rarely get seen.

I have also been with 5miles for over four years now and when I started, it was the very best app for selling. Unfortunately, with each update it gets worse. 5miles dash is a nuisance and you should be able to opt out of it but instead it is always right in your face. The elimination of the boost feature is the worst decision they have made. I have over a hundred listings at any given time, with hundreds more to list. Do they think I'm going to pay to boost these items? Not hardly! I will no longer use this app but will watch to see if the boost option is ever reinstated. I would hope that after they receive all of the complaints they will see that they made a very greedy decision that will eventually need to be changed in order to stop losing accounts. I do not appreciate the canned response you get when complaining but I guess that goes along with the bad decision making.

I stopped using other, similar apps because they didn’t offer free boost which makes a big difference in sales. Guess I’ll be dropping 5miles next! You guys should find a better way to monetize your app. My bet is that not many people will be willing to pay for the Feature function—but oooh, it’s 3-in-1!—and more will simply stop using your app because sales are slower with no free boost feature. Nice job!

Bring back the free boost feature!  I'm not paying to boost over 400 items! Your platform has been good for me until this foolishness. I have been using this app for 4 years without many issues but that may just change soon. I grew up in a family owned small business that made its reputation on customer service and have always provided this. Expected this to go both ways......

Listings don't really boost; at least not the older ones only the newer ones. I've tested mine several times and after a week or two they no longer actually boost so you have to delete and repost if you wanna sell it.

What other selling apps can we go to? Trying to look for one that don't charge you to boost an item or have some good traffic for my stuff.

Boost was free and should remain free. Set it free. Stop reinventing the wheel to line your pockets 5mile. I have been here since 5mile began. I have seen changes that people did not like and this is no different. But I have to admit, this is low for anyone to try to make a buck. Stop messing around with our listings and give us back our always free boost button.
    Not satisfied with changes here.

To boost my listing it said $2.99 for 3 days. When I select the listing & continue it now days $7.99 for 3 days. Why is this happening? I have a $3.00 credit to use by Dec 9th & wanted to use it to boost my listing. Please explain.

Pay to boost? Ha ha, I’ll delete my account before I pay anything for this app! It would be different if things actually sold but they don’t seem to, so paying for people to see my listing is not gonna happen

What has happened to 5miles? All the changes to Boost and implement ing the crazy Dash has taken a huge toll on community sales. It is no longer a competitive buyer/seller app. Once a great selling app, my items sell 100% faster on other buying/selling apps. Too bad. This app has fallen from grace.

I’ve been so successful with 5 mile past few years. Just realized my boost doesn’t work after 4 times. This was not the case in the past and we have to pay to boost now!! What a shocker!! That is ridiculous!! Of course an app gets successful and now here comes the fees. Pretty sad.
