Potential buyers won't reply after initiating contact
Lately a large amount of potential buyers initiate contact. Sometimes they only ask if it's available but a lot of the time they go further into the conversation and then completely ignore me...
Approximately 20 people a week do this. I don't know if it's just me, but I think if someone initiates contact, they should follow through. Even with a "thank you" or "not interested" at the very least...
It's starting to drive me away from doing business on Five Mile when almost 85% of people that contact me do this.
I can't be the only one that feels this way and I wonder why the people at Five Mile don't address this?
In a lot of cases I Will Wait 24 hours. Message again and then wait another 24 hours to message again. A total of three messages.
I really feel like these people deserve a bad review, but all they're going to do is turn around and give me a bad review to get back at me... What do you think?

I am new to 5 miles, so I have not had any contact at all with potential buyers yet. However, the very same issue that you are talking about happened to me on another site. I did the same as you answered their initial question....Waited and sent another note to them, nothing and then a 3rd and final note.
I cannot help but wonder if some people just enjoy doing this. I will see how things play out on 5 miles

I think that may just be a glitch on your end...
I typically wait 24 hours. Send them another message. Then wait another 24 hours before I send the last message.
At the very least a courteous person would reach out to the seller and let them know they're having trouble reading messages.
I hate to be cynical about things, but the buy and sell Market through most all venues has become a situation where buyers treat Sellers as if they are at their disposal. No courtesy whatsoever -
I encountered the same things often, I always reply back with a yes then do you want it? This scares a lot of people away, and the ones that answer back are just a little bit more qualified buyers. Also when they ask for an address, I always ask for their phone number to text them my address. That way they have skin in the game.

So.maybe they asked for.someone else sitting next to them.if it was available and they decided against. It or maybe they sent it and by the time it took for you to get back they found something else it's really not that big of a.deal what I dont like is when ppl keep sending. Me messages if I dont reply back inget sending one but to send more.then one now that's just you wasting your own time and to.want to.leave someone a bad review because. Maybe they wanted some info or what not is ridiculous in had a.guy do that to me because I decided not to buy it in the end and I had told him that ...so if you go to a store in person and you pick up and item and look at it or ask an associate for help and then dont get it should you not be allowed back at that store again or have the store blast you in fbook or.something it's really not a big deal you can just move on and forget idk maybe I'm making to.much sense sorry about all the .'s phone is screwy plz dont give me.a.bad review for it ...I'm probably gonna get one for being on the other side of this issue
