Do I need to do anything when my car is on auction?
No. Your hands are free! The buyer will continue bidding on the cars. 5miles will notify you if your car is bid successfully or it will go back to your local listing.
What if someone's bid is really close to my reserve price, do I have the negotiation power?
Yes. When the auction ends and the winning bid is really close to the reserve price you set, we will send you an email and ask if you want to make this deal at the winning bid. You can either hit "confirm" to make the deal within 2 hours, or the car will go back to your listing.
After my car is bid successfully, how do I get my money?
You will contact your buyer directly regarding payment and shipping method. 5miles will step out of this conversation as the car is sold. However, the buyer is required to complete the payment within 7 days after winning the bid.
What if the buyer cancels the order after he or she wins the bid?
The buyer will be charged a $250(per car) deposit before joining the Car Dash. If the buyer breaks the deal and cancels the order, the deposit will be compensated to your account.
What if I need to cancel the order after the car is bid successfully?
You will be charged a $99(per car) penalty fee for canceling the order and the money will be deposited into the buyer’s account.
Do I need to pay if my car is sold successfully?
You will not have to pay anything before you actually receive the payment from the buyer.
After the car is bid successfully, the deposit of $250 that buyers made will be used towards their payments on your car. You will not have to pay any extra to 5miles.
Do I need to transfer the title to my buyer?
Yes. Each state has slightly different rules on how the title transfer should be completed. We recommend that you visit your state's Department of Motor Vehicles to review detailed information about transferring titles to the new owner.
Who is responsible for the sales tax, license, and registration fee, etc?
The buyer will be responsible for all the fees relates to the transaction. Your reserve price should NOT include any sales tax, license, registration fees, etc.
